Bengali Chicken Curry

Ingredients

  • Bengali Chicken Curry1 chicken cut into pieces
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 2 bay leaves (tej patta)
  • 1" cinnamon
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • Salt
  • Chily powder
  • Oil

Method

  1. Marinate the chicken in salt, turmeric, chilli powder and 2 tbsp of oil for an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a big vessel.
  3. Add bay leaves, cloves and cinnamon.
  4. Add the sliced onions and fry till golden.
  5. Add the marinated chicken and fry on high heat for 2 minutes.
  6. Reduce the heat, cover the vessel and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  7. Add chopped tomato, cover and cook till done.
  8. Garnish with cilantro.
