Ingredients
- 300 gm chudwa (poha)
- 250 gm fresh shelled peas
- 100 ml milk
- 3 tbs ghee
- 1 tbs dhaniya powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp haldi
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/4 tsp amchur powder
- 1 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 2 large cloves garlic
- 2 green chillies
- 1 lemon
- 1/4 tsp jeera powder
- 1/4 tsp black salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- salt to taste
Method
- To make the tahiri, quickly wash the chudwa in running water. Place in a bowl and gradually mix in the milk. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- In a cooker, put 2 tbs of ghee and heat. Add dhaniya powder, mirch powder, haldi and peas, stirring constantly.
- After a minute on high heat, lower the flame for about five minutes.
- Now mix this into the chudwa- milk mixture in the bowl.
- Add salt, amchur, garam masala and mix.
- Now put in pressure cooker, with I tbs of ghee.
- Leave on a low flame for five minutes.
- For the chutney, put coriander leaves, garlic, chillies, jeera powder, black salt, salt and sugar in a grinder, with a little water, and make a paste.
- Remove and add the lemon.
- Serve with hot tahiri.
