Kolhapuri Fish

Ingredients

  • Kolhapuri Fish1 kg fish filleted and cubed
  • 2/3 cup Yogurt
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 2 tsp grated coconut
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2tsp chilly powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 tsp broken cinnamon
  • cloves
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 2 tsp oil
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

Method

  1. Mix turmeric powder, chilly powder, garlic paste, salt and lemon juice into the yogurt and marinate the fish in it for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil and add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper and onions. Saute till onions become soft. Add coconut and sauté till they become lighth brown.
  3. Add tomatoes and cook till access water dries. Blend the whole mixture in a blender.
  4. Heat the rest of the oil and add fish. Stir fry over high heat till it turns opaque.
  5. Add the ground paste and simmer over low heat till fish is cooked. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
