Bharleli Vaangi


  • Bharleli Vaangismall sized aubergines (egg plant)
  • 2 tsp powdered roasted peanuts
  • 1 tsp goda masala
  • 1 tsp Red chilly powder
  • tsp peanut oil
  • tsp cumin seeds
  • tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp Tamarind water
  • 2 tsp Jaggery water
  • tsp Coriander Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut


  1. Prepare the stuffing masala by mixing together coconut, peanut powder, red chilly powder, goda masala and salt.
  2. Slice the aubergines into four leaving them attatched only at the stem.
  3. Insert the stuffing masala in it.
  4. Heat oil in pan and add cumin and mustard seeds.
  5. Place the stuffed aubergines in it.
  6. Pour water and cover for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Add tamarind and jaggery water and add salt to taste.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut.
  9. Serve with roti.
