Potato in Bombay Duck (Bombil)


  • Potato in Bombay Duck8-10 Bombay Ducks (cleaned and drained)
  • 1 tbsp chilly powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Small Sized thinly sliced potato
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Salt to Taste
  • 2-3 Green Chilies
  • 3-4 smashed Garlic flakes


  1. Marinate the Bombay Ducks and potato with chilly powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, finely chopped green chilies and salt. Keep aside for an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a vessel. Add smashed garlic flakes and shallow fry till they turn slightly brown.
  3. Now add the marinated Bombay Ducks and simmer for a while.
  4. Add the thinly sliced potato.
  5. Cover the vessel and allow the ingredients to cook in its own water.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  7. Serve hot.
